"Brilliant": Jamie Carragher says £17m star is now one of the PL's best after leaving Arsenal

Jamie Carragher has labelled Emiliano Martínez as a brilliant signing once again, following the player's exit from Arsenal. The Gunners sold the goalkeeper to Aston Villa for £17 million, instead deciding to keep Bernd Leno at the Emirates Stadium. Since joining Villa, Martinez has impressed, becoming the club's number one player this season. “I think of a team who have gone from almost going to being a comfortable top 10 team,” Carragher said on Sky Sports, after naming the keeper in his Team of the Season. “He has got 17 clean sheets, the best save to shot ratio in the league and I just think he’s been a brilliant signing and looks like one of the top keepers in the league now.”
