Brighton's pursuit of Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is set to have a club-record transfer fee of around £40 million.
The 20-year-old center-back impressed during his loan spell with Brighton, starting 17 games and helping them secure their first-ever Europa League qualification.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi has expressed his desire to work with Colwill for several more years, praising his quality and significant improvement. Brighton is reportedly prepared to make an offer of around £40 million, an increase of £10 million from their initial bid.
However, Chelsea is keen on retaining the English professional, impressed by his progress and potential. Under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, Colwill is expected to play a key role in the Blues in the upcoming season.
