Briatore: “Six drivers, including Alonso, could’ve won title in Mercedes car”

Ex-Formula 1 boss Flavio Briatore reckons, at least five or six drivers could have won the 2019 title in Mercedes car. However, Lewis Hamilton was the one, who did so. Hamilton clinched his sixth title and is set to match Michael Schumacher’s record of seven wins. “Mercedes is an invincible battleship,” Briatore told Autosprint magazine. “At least five or six drivers, including Alonso, would have won the title with their 2019 car.” Briatore, though, did not want that statement to take anything away from Lewis Hamilton and his achievements.
