Chelsea star Eden Hazard will miss Chelsea’s Europa League clash against PAOK on Thursday with a minor injury.
“I'm worried that he had a back injury and now ankle, so he has lost a lot of training, so it is normal he is not at the top form of his physical condition. He has one week and a couple of matches,” said Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.
“This week it is useful for him to have training. Of course, he cannot play 10 matches in 30 days, so sometimes he has to rest.”
Sarri has revealed how did he deal with training after the defeat.
“I went player by player. I had a meeting of ten minutes individual meetings. We lost the match after three months and a half, we have to understand why and from the mental approach. If you don’t have the determination then maybe you don’t have the character in the mind, I wanted to understand this. The target in my mind is very clear, it is to win something and in a long time to become the best team in Europe,” said Sarri.
Chelsea boss is considering many changes for tomorrow’s game: “I think so. We have ten matches in December. We have two targets, to qualify and to win our group. We need one point, but can’t think about that. So the target for tomorrow is to win the match. We can do this.”
Sarri has admitted he doesn’t want Kante in the central midfield.
“As you know I want to play a central midfielder with great technical ability, so Jorginho and Fabregas. I don’t want Kante in this position. Kante tried to solve the match on Saturday, but in the wrong way. He tried to be too attacking. Maybe it is a question of time. He needs to stay near to Jorginho. It depends on the action (Kante getting forward). If the ball is on the left, no. He has to stay very close to Jorginho.”

After Spurs defeat
I have to think of everything. Saturday we played very badly, a match without determination. But we lost a match after 110 days I think. So the team did well generally, but we have to understand why we played against Spurs without the determination, it is not normal. I want to see a reaction tomorrow and on Sunday. I want to see we have learned from our mistakes.
Mental block at the start?
The problem in the last three matches has been the approach in the match. Tottenham are very strong and that makes the problem bigger. They were able to destroy us in 15, and I saw that problem in the game before.
Did the players say why Saturday happened?
It is difficult to tell me why. Someone told me that the international might have been a problem, to be back 100%. But I don’t know Maybe for Spurs it was easier as the players played in London on Sunday so was all together, but the situation was similar.
Is the Man City gap too large already?
I think the points average of Man City is, I don’t know, but it is very difficult to stay very close. At the moment it is better not to look at the table. We have to improve. Our target is to be in the first four positions because we want to play Champions League. The Premier League it is not easy to be in top four. The target is this, we cannot look at City.
Hudson-Odoi, why has he not played more?
He has to improve a lot. First of all in the defensive phase. He has to work and he is very good in the one on one, but he has to move without the ball. The potential he is a very good player, but he has to work. But this is normal. He is 18. I want to find space for him. It is not easy because we have 28 players. For me, it is not easy to put him in the starting XI. Maybe on the bench in the PL there was Moses or Pedro so it is difficult to not put them on the bench. I will try to find the space for him. He is in the 18 players for the match tomorrow, but I don’t know if he will start.
Chelsea have already qualified for the last 32 of the competition, but one point in their last two matches will secure the top spot of Group L. Chelsea will play against PAOK on Thursday.
