BREAKING: Arsenal defender signs news contract after impressive performances

Arsenal defender Zech Medley has enjoyed a rapid rise this season at Arsenal. The 18-year-old has been handed senior appearances in the Europa League and FA Cup by Unai Emery  and now the manager wants to reward him with a new deal. "I’m very pleased and honoured to be signing another contract with this club," said the centre-back. "I’ve been supporting them since I was a kid and I’ve been watching them since I was young, so to be able to sign with such an amazing team is really good. "Since last year a lot of stuff has happened quite quickly in a short space of time, but I’ve just had to keep my head down and progress. Hopefully I can achieve more," Medley said. Medley made his senior debut in November when he came off the bench during the 3-0 win against FC Vorskla in the Europa League. He also played against Qarabag and in FA Cup success against Blackpool. "It’s been amazing," said Medley. "I’ve just tried to take everything in my stride and hopefully I can push on for more regular chances in the first-team. "It’s really important to get that experience and to just be around players who are really good and playing at a world-class level so that I can learn off them and see how they train and prepare for big games. It’s really good for my development."
