What Brandon Williams was told before his first Premier League start

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Brandon Williams he makes it difficult to take him out of the first-team squad. The 19-year-old has made his first Premier League start in the absence of Ashley Young during the 3 - 1 win over Brighton. He showed an impressive game, however, received a yellow card and was denied a first career goal by Brighton goalkeeper Mathew Ryan. Solksjaer has told Willimas he would be at the first-team squad against Brighton ahead of Partizan clash. "Brandon was excellent. He's played well before, but the first start at Old Trafford in a Premier League game, you don't know how he's gonna react. But he was looking forward to it. I told him on Thursday just look forward to this one, I thought it was fairer to him when he's playing the first game that he didn't play on Thursday, so excellent performance. He's done nothing wrong since he's come in and making it hard for me [to leave him out], definitely. He's really, really impressed me, I have to say. He's making it hard to leave him out. Quite a few of the fans that have been here, young boys maybe, have been here thinking, 'I wanna be like Williams, I wanna be like Martial, I wanna be like Rashford'. But these are young boys as well so it's still gonna be ups and downs and today was definitely a game you start on front foot, get your confidence and then it's 'how many are we gonna get?'," said United boss.
