Boris Becker: “I would probably have had a chance against Roger Federer on grass”

Former World No.1 tennis player Boris Becker was successful from the start of his career, winning the first of his six major singles titles at age 17. Becker also won five year-end championships, 13 Masters Series titles and an Olympic gold medal in doubles. Nevertheless, how would he do against today’s players if they could face each other? The German commented: “Against Rafael Nadal on grass, I would win. I would lose to Roger Federer on hard, but on grass, I would probably have a chance. Technology changed. I think at my time the competition was bigger. At my time there were 10, 15 players, now there are three." Asked if he has a favourite player, Becker replied: "Yeah, Roger Federer, if he plays well. That's good for your eyes! I also like Rafael Nadal who beats everyone on clay and Novak Djokovic who has a strong self-belief."
