BILD: Chelsea contact agent of Werner ahead of potential £52m transfer

Manchester United and Chelsea have contacted Timo Werner’s agent with a view of signing the German attacker, according to Bild. Liverpool were leading the race for Werner but as per recent reports in the Guardian. However, it now looks as though both Chelsea and Manchester United, who are also interested in signing Werner, have been handed a boost because Liverpool stalled the deal.

According to Bild, both clubs contacted Werner’s agent regarding a potential move, with Sky Sports previously claiming he could move for a bargain £52million fee – his release clause. Werner has been in good form for Leipzig this season, scoring 27 goals in all competitions. Source: Bild
