Coronavirus pandemic hit the European football as almost all domestic leagues around the continent, as well as the Champions League and Europa League, are currently suspended.
However, Belarusian Premier League continues and now we are turning our attention to the Belarusian Cup.
Belarusian Cup is an annual knock-out competition first founded in 1992.
The tournament is very important as the winner qualifies for the UEFA Europa League.
The defending champion is Shakhtyor Soligorsk, which was their third title. They are one of the most successful teams, along with Bate Borisov, Dinamo Minsk, Belshia and Dynamo Brest.
Currently, only 4 teams compete as we are set to watch the semi-finals of the competition.
Slavia VS BATE
BATE reached the semi-final after beating Dinamo Minsk 5-3 on aggregate in the quarter-finals. While the route of Slavia was more impressive as they beat Dnyapro 6-0 on aggregate.
The two clubs started their performances in the Belarussian Premier League. While Slavia have two victories after three games, BATE have won only one game of their three.
However, BATE are set to have an advantage at the cup competition due to their history. BATE have won the trophy three times, while five times ended as a runner-up. Slavia, meanwhile, have won twice and two times finished as a runner-up.
Dinamo Brest VS Shakhtyor
Dinamo Brest have reached the semi-finals after beating Isloch on penalties in the quarter-finals. Shakhtyor, meanwhile, reached this stage of the tournament after beating Torpedo BelAZ 3-0.
In their first three games in the Belarusian Premier League, the two clubs have 4 points after winning and drawing once.
Dinamo Brest have won the tournament three times and each time they reached the final. Shakhtyor have also won the tournament three times, but they have ended as runner-up five times.
The second leg of the tournament will take place on April 29.
