Barcelona are reportedly keen to sell Philippe Coutinho this summer as a matter of urgency to clear the debt they still owe to Liverpool for his transfer. The Brazilian midfielder joined the Catalan giants in January 2018 in a staggering deal worth up to €160million (£142m). Both clubs agreed on a structured payment plan involving several instalments. According to Spanish publication Sport, £43m of that is still due to be paid to Liverpool. Barcelona's perilous financial situation has been well-documented and they are now said to be looking to offload Coutinho to cut their losses and avoid paying anything further. It was only last summer that they valued Coutinho at around £80m, but club chiefs are now prepared to make a huge loss on the 28-year-old simply to try and balance the books.
