Barcelona face injury crisis as Ousmane Dembele is ruled out for five weeks

Barcelona are facing a potential selection crisis as Ousmane Dembele picked up a hamstring strain in Barca’s La Liga opener against Athletic Bilbao on Friday. A statement on the Barcelona website said: "A medical examination on Ousmane Dembele has diagnosed a strain of his left hamstring and the Frenchman is set to be out for approximately five weeks as a result." Luis Suarez was forced off in the same fixture with a calf issue- a similar injury that is keeping Lionel Messi on the sidelines. Barca's next fixture sees them host Real Betis on Sunday in their second domestic encounter of the campaign. Messi is unlikely to be fit for the clash as he continues to recover from the calf strain that kept him out of the club's pre-season tour of the US, while the fitness of Suarez is unknown.
