Barcelona confirm transfer plans for Manchester City's Eric Garcia

Barcelona are still interested in signing Eric Garcia in the current transfer window, according to their sporting director Ramon Planes. Manchester City brought the youngster from the La Masia academy back in 2017 and he has developed into a first-team player at the Etihad, but told the club shortly after their recent Premier League campaign finished that he will not be renewing a contract that runs out in 2021 after Barcelona convinced him to return. City are open to selling Garcia but want a fee in the region of the fee they paid Valencia for Ferran Torres, another of Spain's most talented prospects who also had a year left on his contract and was valued at more than €20m up front and more than €30m in total. "It's true that we are looking for someone to help us in defence,' Planes said. "Eric Garcia is a great player, made in Barcelona, who loves the club, but whether or not he can join depends on the market. "The club's idea is to build a young side alongside players who have given a lot to the club. Eric has that profile." Source- Manchester Evening News Join us on Telegram
