Barcelona close to signing Palmeiras' 21-year-old midfielder

Barcelona are reportedly close to signing Matheus Fernandes from Palmeiras. The Brazilian midfielder has been Catalan giants' target for two years. They have already had failed a bid of €6m for the player, but seem to have the agreement succeed by upping their price. The deal for the 21-year-old could cost up to €11 million, according to Globo Esporte. The transfer has also been reported by Fox Sports and ESPN. Fernandes himself has already said goodbye to his teammates.
