Ballon d’Or voting breakdown: Sri Lanka voted for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Guatemala-for Alisson

Lionel Messi won his sixth Ballon d’Or title on Monday as he pipped Virgil van Dijk to the crown.

France Football, who organize the Ballon d’Or, have released details of who each country voted for.

A journalist from each country picks their top five players for the year with points then allocated depending on the selection.

A journalist from Guatemala Francisco Aguilar Chang voted for Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Frenkie de Jong, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah with the same order.

While a journalist from Sri Lanka, Hafiz Marikar, voted for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, Antoine Griezmann, Robert Lewandowski and Marc Andre ter- Stegen.
