Balco Coastal looks a horse with a big future after he made a most impressive British debut on VBET Day at Kempton.

Trained by Nicky Henderson, the former Irish point-to-pointer was sent off the 5/4 favourite for division one of the Standard Open NH Flat Race.

His followers were counting their money a long way from home as Nico de Boinville’s partner sauntered 17 lengths clear of Get Sky High.

De Boinville said: “He’s a smart horse and will probably stay two and a half (miles). That was a really nice start for him.”

De Boinville and Henderson later teamed up for a double when Hooper (5/2 favourite) gamely won the Gamble Responsibly With VBET ‘Jumpers’ Bumper’ NH Flat Race.

Connections of Aggy With It (7/1) are optimistic of a profitable spring after the mare eased home in the Bet Better With VBET ‘Jumpers’ Bumper’ NH Flat Race.

Jockey Harry Skelton told Racing TV: “She was in second gear all day, so it was ideal.

“She’s a good mare. We’ll look forward to the spring and some nice ground.”
