Atalanta boss provides fresh Cristian Romero update amid Tottenham transfer links

Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has claimed that the Italian club will see what Cristian Romero's position is when he returns on Monday amid links with Tottenham. The Argentinian has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs with Fabrizio Romano claiming the the deal is almost done. And while speaking to the media on Saturday afternoon after the team's pre-season friendly win against Pordenone, manager Gasperini was asked in his post-match press conference about Romero and provided an update.

“I haven’t actually seen Romero yet, as he’ll be back on Monday,” he said, as reported by Football Italia.   “We’ll see what his position is, then of course there is a negotiation in progress between the two clubs. We’ll see what the evaluations will be if he does leave.”
