Aston Villa's promising starlet promoted to first-team training

Steven Gerrard has promoted Ben Chrisene to the Aston Villa first-team training session following injury recovery. Since his arrival at Villa, Gerrard has been mixing the academy's talents with his main squad. The 17-year-old signed his first professional deal at the start of the year, after showing his potential in FA Cup Third-Round tie against Liverpool last term. Academy Manager Mark Harrison said after Chrisene signed his pro deal in January.

"Since Ben joined us from Exeter at the beginning of the season, he has played regularly for the Under-18s and just before Christmas he played for the Under-23s on a couple of occasions.   "He has played the majority of games at left-back and we have been very pleased with his development."
