Aston Villa star Wesley opens up on becoming a father aged 14

Aston Villa striker Wesley has revealed how he fathered a child at the tender age of 14. Wesley joined Aston Villa from Club Brugge this summer. "I had my first child when I was 14 years old," Wesley told Sky Sports . "It was difficult because it was during this time that I started to try and play football professionally. I had to work in the day and then go to training in the evening. I was 14 when I had my first kid, and 16 when I had my second. When I had my children, I told myself I had to do everything to be a football player." The now-22-year-old is currently averaging a goal every two games for his new club and is grateful for the opportunity he has been granted.
