Arum says Joshua is NOT an ELITE fighter and explains his statements
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is sure world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is not an elite fighter. 88-year-old Arum has responded to Eddie Hearn’s statement, that AJ is the best heavyweight, not the winner of Wilder - Joshua. “Any fighter that loses, not only loses, but gets knocked out by Andy Ruiz, who at best is a slightly above-average heavyweight, is not an elite fighter – period,” Arum told reporters after Wilder-Fury press-conference (via Boxingscene).“And then, secondly, when Andy Ruiz goes into the second fight obese – obese, not even really having trained – [and Joshua] doesn’t knock the guy out and destroy him, instead dances around for 12 rounds, [he] is not an elite fighter.” he added. Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will meet on February 22. Anthony Joshua could have a fight with the winner only if both Wilder and Fury don’t agree to a third fight, which is also likely to happen according to the recent reports.
