Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger took charge of the All Star team, with former Italian goalkeeper Francesco Toldo in between the sticks to celebrate 20 years since the 1998 World Cup.
Wenger had a host of household names to call upon with Edgar Davids, Samuel Eto'o, Christian Vieri and Hristo Stoitchkov all starting.
The France team could count upon Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Fabian Barthez, Laurent Blanc and Lilian Thuram, with Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires on the bench.
By half-time, the scoreline stood at 1-1 thanks to goals from Henry and Fernando Morientes. Fittingly, the Frenchman profited from a wonderful pass from Zidane to score for the hosts.
In the second half, the star of the 1998 World Cup final showed his class once again to make it 2-1 with a well-struck freekick 50 minutes in. It was Vincent Candela, who put France back in the lead, and that's how it ended at 3-2.
