Arsene Wenger believes a MAJOR Champions League RULE should be CHANGED

Former Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger believes the away goal rule in the European competitions should be changed.  Frenchman, currently working in FIFA, explains that nowadays the away goal isn’t as important as it was when introduced.  Not once, Wenger has also suffered a Champions League exit because of the away goal rule.  In 2004, Claudio Ranieri’s Chelsea knocked Gunners out after playing two draws and scoring more goals at Highbury.  "You play at home by thinking every goal you concede, you are half out,” he told beiN Sports (via LiverpoolECHO). “Sometimes I feel that this away goal becomes a big handicap when you play your first game at home because you have to attack with keeping a certain security and not giving away too much.”  “I proposed that for a long time. To get rid of the away goal at least until you go into extra-time because the weight of the away goal is too big in the modern game. “It’s not justifiable anymore. That [was brought in at] a time when away from home there was no television, they would kick you off the park, the pitches were bad. “I think it [scraping away goals until extra-time] would be a good decision.” he added.
