Arsenal's €60m bid for a centre-back was rejected

According to Bild, Arsenal have made a €60m bid for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, however, the Bundesliga side have rejected it. The Gunners have already signed few players during the transfer window including William Saliba, whom, however they loaned back to AS Saint-Étienne as well as Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli and Dani Ceballos, who joined Gunners on a season-long loan. During the summer transfer window, Arsenal showed an interest in Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, however the move didn't happen. Dayot Upamecano, 20, made 22 appearances during last season with RB Leipzig and was a key part of France's team in the Euro U21 Championship semi-finals. His contract with the Bundesliga side ends in 2021. via The Sun
