Arsenal to battle Aston Villa to sign their top transfer target

Arsenal have been handed a major transfer blow as they are set to battle Aston Villa to sign Emi Buendia. The Norwich City playmaker has been on the Gunners' radar since as far back as December, with the club said to be a huge admirer of his talents. But despite lodging their first official bid for the 2020/21 Championship Player of the Season on Wednesday, the offer, understood to be in the region of £30million, was knocked back, despite Canaries sporting director Stuart Webber recently hitting that an offer within that region could be considered suitable. And according to Goal, Villa, who also lodged a bid for Buendia earlier this week, are now in the driving seat to land the Norwich ace's signature, moving ahead of the Gunners in an attempt to wrap up a deal. The 24-year-old, who scored 15 goals and claimed 17 assists to help the Canaries lift the Championship title this season, is considered as one of the most creative players currently playing in England, as proven by his impressive statistics.
