Arsenal plan stunning January swoop for Atletico Madrid player who is ready for transfer

Arsenal are hoping to bolster their midfield with the capture of one of Atletico Madrid’s star men Thomas Partey, according to reports. The Atletico Madrid midfielder is being tipped to leave the Wanda Metropolitano in January after both the Gunners and PSG were tipped to make huge offers for the Ghanaian, according to a report in the Daily Express. Partey has become a regular under Diego Simeone. However, Marca reported the player is not happy in Madrid. The 25-year-old is far from happy with his role so far this season and they claim “he could move on in the winter window”. Spanish newspaper AS claimed that Atletico were prepared to let the player leave in February 2017, when he had a release clause of just over £20million written into his contract. He has since penned a new contract to tie him to the club until 2023 and his buyout clause is believed to have risen significantly. The Ghana international played 50 times last year, starting on 40 occasions and scoring five goals, but has earned under 400 minutes so far this year across nine matches.
