Arsenal make contact with 21-year-old Benfica defender

  Arsenal have been in contact with Benfica defender Nuno Tavares agents, report Fabrizio Romano. Tavares has been with the Primeira Liga side since the summer of 2019 and is contracted until the summer of 2024. During the 2020/21 season, he made 25 appearances in which he provided 3 assists. The 21-year-old missed several games due to COVID19 as well as injuries. Romano took to Twitter and wrote: "After Napoli and Lazio, also Arsenal have been in contact with Nuno Tavares agents. Benfica are asking around €15/17m to sell the Portuguese left back.  #AFC @DiMarzio "But after Tierney’s contract extension signed, Arsenal will calmly decide how to act on the left back."
