Thierry Henry has picked Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane as the two favorites to win Ballon d’Or this year.

Real Madrid’s star is having an unbelievable season so far, being the only player in top-flight European football this season to be involved in 57 goals (43 goals and 14 assists).

The 34-year-old was the key figure in Ancelotti’s La Liga title win and the road to the Champions League final as well.

Meanwhile, Mane has a high chance to win a quadruple with Liverpool.

The Senegal International scored the decisive goal for his country to win Africa Cup of Nations in February.

Talking to CBS Sports via Metro UK, Henry made a claim:

“If you think about the [Champions League] final and to make it even bigger, the two favourites for the Ballon d’Or are Mane and Benzema.

“So that will add a little extra spice into it.

“I still believe that Benzema is ahead, but if Mane wins it with Liverpool and they do make the quadruple, that would be a pretty strong case.

“It would be great for Africa, but I’m still going with Benzema.”

Both of the players will face each other in the Champions League final in Paris, on May 28.
