Arsenal fans react to Shkodran Mustafi being booed in pre-season opener

In Arsenal pre-season opener against Colorado Rapids last night Shkodran Mustafi came on as a substitute in the 62^nd minute and took the captain’s armband from Calum Chambers. Arsenal fans got angry to see Mustafi as the captain and started booing when they noticed that he wore the armband upside-down. Following the end of the match the fans continued to express their displeasure on social media. "Mustafi can’t even put the armband on correctly ffs Arsenal," said one. "Only Mustafi can be given captain for a preseason game and take his chance by putting on the armband upside down," one wrote. "Mustafi is so used to ending up face down on the floor, he’s actually preempted it by wearing the captain’s armband upside down so it looks right on TV," joked another. "Can't even were the armband the right way up," added a fourth. "Just noticed Mustafi can’t even wear the armband properly, he wore it upside down," said another. Arsenal eventually won their match 3-0 against Colorado Rapids thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, James Olayinka and Gabriel Martinelli who played his first match for the club.
