Arsenal are battling it out with Barcelona for the services of Sevilla winger Bryan Gil, who has caught the eye with his performances on loan with Eibar. Gil has an affordable release clause of €35m.
However, the Gunners face a race against time if they can sign the player. Estadio Deportivo claims Sevilla have reached an agreement with the youngster to extend his contract until 2025 and are aiming to significantly increase the clause in his deal.
Sevilla transfer supremo Monchi is planning for Gil’s release clause to rise to a whopping €150m, a figure both Arsenal and Barcelona will likely see as ‘unattainable’. While that figure is not finalised, it’s expected to be around that mark and it gives Arsenal a fight against time.
The 20-year-old has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Eibar, netting three goals and adding two assists to his name.
