Further to the injury that Rob Holding sustained during Arsenal’s clash against Manchester United on Wednesday night, the player has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee, the club have confirmed.
A physio has hit out at Arsenal's decision to 'risk' Rob Holding after it was confirmed the centre-back has suffered a season-ending injury.
He sent an initial tweet reading: "I hope Rob Holding's injury is nothing too serious. Three games in six days was always going to be a risk."
Holding sent a message to his Gunners team-mates, the club's backroom staff and the fans on Friday in a bid to stay upbeat.
"This team is special! I love my guys," wrote the defender. "Thank you for all the support from players, staff and fans."
