Anthony Joshua must reach a deal with Kubrat Pulev before the end of the month.
In his recent fight, Joshua beat Andy Ruiz Jr to retain his WBA, IBF and WBO titles.
The Brit is now eyeing his next opponent.
Joshua has been ordered to put his titles on the line against Pulev and Oleksandr Usyk.
A spokesperson for the IBF confirmed both fighters have been given until the end of January to agree terms on a contract.
"I have just been told that the Pulev and Joshua camps have asked until January 31 to negotiate," they told Sky Sports.
