Anthony Joshua distances himself from Eddie Hearn

A new party has entered the negotiations for the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Promoter Eddie Hearn has played a major part in Joshua's rise to the top by helping the heavyweight champion secure the biggest fights. However, the pair do not seem to be working as closely any more as the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belt holder wants to take control of his own destiny. Talks should be relatively simple as Joshua and Fury have both verbally agreed to split the purse straight down the middle. Joshua appeared to put distance between himself and the man who helped him rise to the top. “258 management will liaise with Eddie," the 31-year-old said. “Eddie has his own views on certain things sometimes and I have my own views on certain things sometimes.” He added: "How close are we? I promise you conversations are happening. We’re definitely looking at the landscape. But until you hear it from me, don’t buy into anything.” That is not all Joshua has said to put down Hearn in recent weeks. “258 Management [his management company] are reaching out to MTK Global and Frank Warren, Tyson Fury’s management team, so we can start having conversations about the logistics and exactly what it will take to make this fight happen,” he explained. “I want to just get in there and fight. I want to be known as someone who is a true warrior to this sport."
