Andrew Bogut thinks Klay Thompson’s silence has helped ward off free agency chatter

Klay Thompson will be a free agent this summer and his free agency hasn’t generated as big a buzz for a player of his caliber, but his Golden State Warriors teammate Andrew Bogut thinks it’s due to how he has handled the process all around. “The media, I think, give him a little bit of a break as far as over-speculating and throwing him into the fire because he hasn’t really fueled it — at all,” said Andrew Bogut, who has been Thompson’s teammate for five seasons over his two stints with the team, according to ESPN’s Nick Friedell. “You’ve never heard him say anything bad about wanting to leave here or going to another team or being the No. 1 option. You’ve never even heard that off the record. Some players say the right thing publicly but have different feelings [in private]. He completely wants to be here and he gets it that this is a very rare situation.” Golden State Warrior's Game 5 with Houston Rockets is scheduled on Wednesday, May 8, 10:30 p.m at the Oracle Arena.
