Massimo Brambati has suggested that AS Roma are using Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen in order to bring down the price of Nicolas Nkoulou.
The 33-year-old is nearing the end of his contract with the Spurs and is likely to leave North London during the upcoming transfer window. He has been targeted by Roma and Inter Milan for a free transfer this summer, according to
CalcioMercato.
And former Torino defender Brambati, who now works as an agent, thinks Roma are using Vertonghen to bring down the price tag of Nkoulou.
When asked about Roma’s reported interest in Spurs' defender, he told
TMW: “They want to satisfy Fonseca for a three-man defence, but I know that Petrachi has not let go of Torino’s Nkoulou, whose contract will expire next month. Maybe they are manoeuvring to lower Torino’s demands.”
