Ally McCoist names Liverpool’s greatest ever striker, and it's not Mo Salah

Ally McCoist claims that Mohamed Salah is "brilliant", however, he is not Liverpool's greatest ever striker. The Egypt international has been recently discussed due to his impressive form with the Reds. He has registered nine goals and three assists in nine games this term. Some even started to suggest that he is the greatest striker in Liverpool history. However, McCoist doesn't share their opinion as he believes only one man can be named as the Merseysiders’ best ever forward.
“Just calm down. Calm down. Is he the finest striker to grace Anfield? No, he’s not. Kenny Dalglish is, by some considerable distance," McCoist said on talkSPORT Breakfast. “Kenny Dalglish was one of the most fantastic football players I’ve ever seen. “Salah is brilliant, by the way. This is all about opinions and, let’s be honest, it’s a generation thing. “Rush’s goalscoring was ridiculous. The partnership he formed with Dalglish was as good as anything I’ve ever seen. “But for all-round ability – the question was who is the best striker not who is the best goalscorer – you had an argument for Rush or Salah, I get all that. “Best striker, in my opinion, that I’ve ever seen would be Kenny Dalglish. “Oh, man alive, what a player. I mean, seriously. He’s incomparable. Kenny had a left foot, right foot, header – unbelievably intelligent, incredibly intelligent. The most intelligent footballer I ever played with. He was just amazing. “He won’t thank me for saying it but he had a backside on him, not quite like Red Rum, but he could turn defenders. He had a low centre of gravity, he was strong, brave – what a football player. “Some of the goals he scored. He scored tap-ins, he scored benders with his left foot, volleys, you name it, everything. And he had the vision and the amount of goals he created for Ian Rush was just remarkable.”
He added:
“I don’t think he’s been underrated by me and more importantly, the Liverpool faithful who go every week and see them. “I think people are like myself, appreciative of his unbelivable talents. And while I’ve gone for Kenny Dalgllish as my best of all-time there is no way I’m undermining the talents of Mo Salah who, you know, might be the best player in the world right now. “He’s had a fantastic start. Absolutely, out of this world, he’s been. I’m not sure he is underrated. I’ve never underrated him anyway as he’s a top talent.”
