Alan Shearer names Man City advantage over Manchester United in Harry Kane transfer pursuit

Alan Shearer has backed Manchester City to move for Harry Kane this summer. The England captain recently informed the north London side of his desire to leave. Shearer said Kane is within his rights to want more. "I don’t think any Tottenham fan could hold it against him. He’s given absolutely everything for that football club and for all we know, he might have asked to leave last summer and they’ve persuaded him to stay one more year," he told BBC's Match of the Day. "He’s been magnificent, look at the numbers - staggering, superb, any word you’d like to use. He’ll have some big-hitters after him, I have no doubt about that." Shearer believes a move to City is more likely to guarantee team trophies for Kane. "Man City will need someone, Man United will need someone, Chelsea will need someone. You’re guaranteed at Man City, I think, more than any other football club [to win things]. Whether they’re prepared to sell to them, at whatever fee, that’s a different question.”
