Ajax progressed to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 22 years by beating Juventus 2-1 in Turin. Cristiano Ronaldo’s team were favourite following their first leg  1-1 draw but goals from Donny Van De Beek and Matthijs De Ligt sealed a historic victory for the Dutch side. Ajax have exceeded all expectations to reach this stage of the competition having come through three qualifying rounds just to reach the group stage. They finished second Bayern Munich in their group before eliminating Real Madrid 5-2 on aggregate in the last-16.
