Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana makes decision over his future amid Chelsea interest

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly keen to join Chelsea this summer. Frank Lampard is looking for a new goalkeeper due to the inconsistent performances of Kepa Arrizabalaga this season. According to The Athletic, Chelsea have been in regular contact with Onana’s representatives in recent months ahead of a potential move for the Cameroon international. The report also adds that Onana is ‘attracted’ by the prospect of playing for Lampard’s side. Ajax are reportedly demanding around €30 million (£26.9m) for the 24-year-old. And Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar has warned that their first-choice goalkeeper will not be allowed to leave for a reduced fee this summer. There will always be some who benefit from a crisis and some clubs will have to sell for less, but I think we’re in a fortunate position thanks to our strong financial policy,’ he told NOS last month. "Therefore we don’t have to sell, but we made agreements with the players. These won’t go below a certain price level. We won’t let go of our players for sale prices. We prefer to keep them here."
