Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has sent a message to Unai Emery by stating that he is eying a long-term position as a right-winger.
It will be a welcome news for Emery, who intends to bolster his options in the wide areas following injuries to Danny Welbeck and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
"I think the club is working for the possibility to bring in some players who can help us during this next four months of competition," the Spaniard told reporters after the 3-0 win over Blackpool in the FA Cup. "It’s a different situation.
"If the transfer market can help us find a centre back, the possibility to bring them in is not easy because we also have Mavropanos coming back from injury.
"If we have the possibility to sign some important players, we can do it.
"At left or right wing, perhaps one player can help us in this position. We will only sign players who give us quality."
It would appear that there's an internal solution to solving the wing issues at the Emirates Stadium as Maitland-Niles has offered his services despite stating central midfield is his best position.
