Agent: “Roger Federer will have given 50 million to charity within 2018”

Roger Federer’s longtime agent Tony Godsick speaking to Tennis.com revealed Federer will have donated $50 million to charity within the end of 2018. “As good a tennis player as he is, he’s a better person, and I get to see a lot more than the average fan gets to see of him,” said Godsick. “All the stuff he does with his foundation—there’s a lot of foundations, they do it for their image. I sit on the board of his foundation, and it’s really interesting to see how engaged he is, and the amount he cares. By this year, he’ll have given away $50 million.” Federer earned $117 million career prize money tournaments, and $77 million just in the last year including his 11 endorsements as well. Speaking after this year's Match for Africa in San Jose, the Roger Federer Foundation CEO Janine Handel said: “These kinds of evenings are great opportunities for us, not only to raise funds but also to raise awareness for our cause. So many children are living in poverty and one of the most powerful tools to exit poverty is education, so they have a chance in life and can reach their full potential.”
