After the massive second half display against Man City, Liverpool deserve at least more attention

Unbeaten in the league and Champions League. Liverpool deserve at least more attention.

“I look at teams like Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United who have spent money but Liverpool’s starting XI is as good as anyone – if not the best,” Peter Crouch told BT Sport. “The reason people aren’t talking about them is because they haven’t gone out and spent money on a big player like Romelu Lukaku like Chelsea have. But their starting XI is as good as anyone.” After previous season, when Liverpool suffered many injuries, many would think that the Reds would go out and make some big transfers during the summer transfer window. However, in the summer when Chelsea welcomed Romelu Lukaku back, or when Cristiano Ronaldo unexpectedly returned to Manchester United or when Manchester City paid £100 million for Jack Grealish , the Reds only made one signing as they welcomed Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old centre back has so far made just two appearances.   Ibrahima Konate makes Virgil van Dijk admission Image source - Getty Images   During the last season, Jurgen Klopp’s side finished 3rd in the league and they reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League but suffered a defeat to Real Madrid. Some would call this season a revival season for the Reds and the most eye catching thing about this season is that Klopp has remained faithful to his team. The Reds boss hasn’t done much changes and that has proven to be effective. However, it doesn’t seem like that the football world is talking about Liverpool and the squad they have, that much. The Reds are currently second in the Premier League table, however, they are the only side yet to suffer a defeat in the league. Liverpool are also currently leading their group in the Champions League with two wins in two games. They have overall scored 25 goals this season and conceded 9 goals. It is early to say, but just by looking at their results, the Reds could finish this season with one or two trophies. In their revival season, a key part of the team is Mohamed Salah. The 29-year-old has so far scored 9 goals in his 9 appearances and provided 3 assists. Ahead of the international break Liverpool and Manchester City faced each other and gave us one of the most thrilling games of the season. After a goalless first half, the teams scored 2 goals each and the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Salah scored an incredible goal and it could have been a winner for the Reds, if it wasn’t for Kevin De Bruyne’s equalizer minutes later.   Salah celebrating against Manchester City Image source - Getty Images   Following the game, the internet went crazy as fans and pundits were showering Mohamed Salah with comments and compliments. Some even called him the best in the world. After Salah’s goal, Klopp told Sky Sports: “If Cristiano scores or Messi scores that goal they say it is world class, Mo scores that goal because he is world class. He is one of the best players in the world, that's how it is."       Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports: “I don't think there's anyone playing better in the world or in Europe at the moment. His record at the start of this season has been absolutely outstanding.”  Even LeBron James took to social media to react to Salah’s goal:     Compared to the teams who made big summer signings, the Reds are currently proving that they are worth being considered as favorites to win the league title as well as the Champions League.   Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
