Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has praised the club's recent signing Kai Havertz for his versatility and experience on the pitch.
The Germany international became Arsenal's first signing of the summer, joining from Chelsea for £65 million. Although the 24-year-old didn't perform as expected during his time in West London, Mikel Arteta is confident that he can unlock the player's full potential in North London.
“A very good commitment. Havertz already has a lot of experience, was captain in Leverkusen when he was very young. He is a national player, has won the Champions League and scored in important games. He can play in different positions, which helps the team,” said the Gunners' keeper.
After facing criticism for his failure in the MLS All-Stars volley and kick challenge, where he missed 14 shots, the ex Chelsea-man scored his first stunning goal for the club in Washington.
“He’s also a tall boy, so he can also help with standard situations, including defensively, which shouldn’t be underestimated in modern football. Above all, it is striking how different he can play.” To add, Ramsdale praised the 24-year-old for being a target player.
Arsenal are set to face Barcelona next in their final game in America before heading back to London.
