4 times Jose Mourinho got everything right that will give Tottenham fans hope in future

Jose Mourinho hasn't enjoyed the greatest season at Tottenham since his arrival. During this time Spurs have lost seven league games, a single-season record for the manager, and are currently on a six-game winless run - the longest in Mourinho’s career. However, it is just the beginning, and there is still a hope that the Portuguese manager can make everything right, as he used to do in his previous clubs during his career. So, here are four most exciting teams that Mourinho built at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid, which will give Spurs fans a hope of a greater future. Porto - 2003/04 Jose Mourinho’s biggest success in football was, indeed, his first, Porto’s treble-winning campaign of 2003/04. Being the last club from outside Europe’s top five divisions to win the Champions League, it still considers as one of the sport’s most incredible achievements. In a 4-4-2, Porto pressed aggressively with a high defensive line, combining an off-the-ball shape with free-form creativity on the counter-attack. Deco was the team’s linchpin, releasing strikers Carlos Alberto and Derlei. Inter Milan - 2009/10 Mourinho’s another treble-winning side, Inter, were without surely the most defensive of all his teams. Their most famous result is definitely the 1-0 defeat to Barcelona in the semi-final second leg of the Champions League, and the first leg should not be forgotten. Mourinho’s Inter won 3-1 at the San Siro, tearing through Pep Guardiola’s men with sharp breaks behind Barcelona’s high line. It is the often overlooked side of Inter, and Mourinho more generally, that should provide Spurs fans with some optimism. Real Madrid - 2011/12 The Portuguese manager won La Liga with 100 points and 121 goals in his second season at Santiago Bernabeu, kncking over Barcelona with a style of football just as entertaining as the one inspired by Guardiola and Lionel Messi. Real’s 4-2-3-1 was more expressive and possession dominant than any Mourinho team before or since, relying on the creativity of Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria, and Mesut Ozil to destroy the defence. Spurs fans do not see anything quite like that, although Real’s 2011/12 season does challenge the assumption Mourinho is too defensive to build on Mauricio Pochettino’s success. Chelsea - 2014/15 Mourinho’s first time at Chelsea is of greater significance, however his return in 2013 actually brought more exciting football. Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa arrived from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid respectively in the summer of 2014. Fabregas’s creativity opened up space for Eden Hazard and Willian, while Costa’s lethal touch in front of goal sewed things together. Chelsea were an expressive, amazing, carefree team unlike anything fans saw during Mourinho’s first spell at Stamford Bridge. Source- football.london
