VBET’s traders have poured through the formbook to bring punters three horse racing tips – including a big-priced each-way chance in the Gold Cup – for the final day of the Cheltenham Festival.
1.55 Cheltenham – PETIT MOUCHOIR
Odds: 22/1
Two-time Grade One winner and the class animal in the field – despite his advancing years. Plenty on his plate at the head of the weights, but Jordan Gainford’s 7lb claim helps relieve the burden.
His best days might well be behind him, but he made a little bit of late headway at Fairyhouse last time to suggest there is still fire in the belly. He looks criminally overpriced for a horse with such natural ability.
3.05 Cheltenham – MINELLA INDO
Odds: 9/1
It takes a leap of faith to support Henry de Bromhead’s inmate on the back of his last two runs, but those of a forgiving mindset should get stuck into his big price on each-way terms.
He’s a proper horse on his day – as evidenced by winning the Albert Bartlett here two years ago – and should enjoy himself running on some decent spring-like ground. In a Gold Cup lacking quality, he has the ability to at least run into the money.
4.50 Cheltenham – LEONCAVALLO
Odds: 25/1
Fascinating contender on his first start over hurdles since November 2019. Denied a run in Saturday’s Imperial Cup due to travel problems, but looks well treated on his best form and should not be lacking fitness.
Fergus Gillard is a most underrated conditional jockey, while the drying ground can only be considered a huge asset from what he has hitherto shown on the track. Huge player at huge odds to provide his trainer with an emotional first victory in the race.
