3 Tottenham players Wolves could turn to in Matt Doherty swap deal

Wolves defender Matt Doherty has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham and the agreement has been reached, according to sports journalist Fabrizio Romano. A report from Irish outlet Off the Ball, has suggested that Spurs are looking for inventive ways to get the deal done, despite Jose Mourinho earmarking him as his number one target. They claim that Spurs could use one or more players as a potential make-weight in the imminent transfer move. Here are three Spurs players that could help to either replace Doherty directly, or improve the depleted resources at Nuno Espirito Santo's disposal: Danny Rose Danny Rose in action for Tottenham Getty Images Rose's future with Spurs looks bleak and after spending the second half of last season on-loan with Newcastle United, he looks set to be on the move again. The England international has links with Leicester City, Leeds United and the Magpies, but a switch to Wolverhampton could make sense for all parties. Rose also has extensive experience playing in a back five, particularly under Gareth Southgate for the national team. Juan Foyth Juan Foyth in action for Tottenham Getty Images Foyth has struggled for regular play time since Mourinho has been in charge at Spurs. The right footed centre-back, also has some experience playing at right-back, with the kind of versatility that Nuno finds appealing. Ryan Sessegnon Ryan sessegnon in action for Spurs Getty Images Sessegnon burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old for Fulham during the 2017/18 season. After two more seasons with the Cottagers, he moved across to London last summer. In his first season at Spurs, Sessegnon played in the Premier League just six times - with no appearances at all in the final months of the campaign, post-lockdown. At Wolves, he would be able to offer direct competition to Ruben Vinagre and offer Nuno two of the most exciting left-backs in the league. Source- BirminghamLive
