Huge ask on first start for 287 days, but he’s since had a wind op. He’s a seriously class act on his day, over fences and hurdles, and still has age on his side. Surely the most fascinating horse in the field stepping up to three miles for the first time.
3.17 Ascot – ABBEY MAGIC

Never out of the top two since changing yards, and stayed on gamely to win at Cork last time. A 6lb rise is hardly the end of the world, while the first-time appointment of Bryony Frost has to be seen as a big positive.
3.35 Haydock – PERFECT CANDIDATE

Hardly a factor at Haydock last month, but that pipe-opener should have him spot-on for a race he won well 12 months ago. He’s now a teenager, but runs here off just a 5lb higher mark than last year. No surprise at all if he’s back on the premises.
