Why Mohamed Salah missed Liverpool training ahead of Huddersfield match

Liverpool are training ahead of their Premier League match against Huddersfield Town on Friday but Mohamed Salah wasn’t seen among the stars on training ground. The Egyptian did not appear to take part in the Reds latest training session as they gear up for a crucial run of games that will define their season. Salah was in New York earlier this week for the Time 100 Gala after being named one of the world’s most influential people by the US magazine. However he missed training at Melwood ahead of the clash with the Terriers on Friday (8pm). With fellow attackers Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino both present, this could suggest Salah could be rested in preparation for the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona next week. Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were also spotted, with the former having made a substitute appearance last time out against Cardiff. Fabinho was also pictured on the training pitches, having suffered a nasty blow to the head in the 2-0 win over Cardiff just minutes after coming off the bench. Jurgen Klopp welcomed Kyle Edmund to Melwood as the British tennis player observed training after his disappointing performance at the Monte Carlo Masters earlier this month.
