Virgil van Dijk was seen shouting at and gesturing to Andy Robertson following Liverpool's Champions League win over Bayern Munich.
The Scot picked up a yellow card very late on in Germany, which sees him suspended for Liverpool's opening quarter final clash.
After Wednesday's match Van Dijk played down the bad news, telling BT Sport: "Yes. It happens in the game but obviously it was a bit unlucky.
"We need to cover it up and we will we have plenty of quality in the squad to do so."
However, he was seen shouting at his team-mate as he appeared to be angry with with Robertson.
"What are you doing?"
Liverpool are one of the strongest teams in the last 8, but will have to get a result in their next match without left-back Robertson.
