Chelsea star Willian confirmed his departure from the Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The Brazilian will join Arsenal next week, according to Fabrizio Romano. The last details and paperwork between the club and the player will be done soon.
Ahead of his expected move, Willian celebrated his 32nd birthday with a video call to Arsenal defender David Luiz. The pair are close friends from their time together at Chelsea and the Brazil national team.
They held a FaceTime call with Luiz posting a screenshot and the caption: "Always together. Happy bday my bro @willianborges88."
Willian made 47 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea in 2019/20, but his future has been subject to intense speculation for some time and he only agreed a short-term contract extension covering the end of the coronavirus-hit campaign in June.
