'We're working' - Steven Gerrard reacts when asked if Aston Villa are signing Everton man

Steven Gerrard has hinted that Aston Villa are interested in signing Lucas Digne from Everton in the January transfer window. It's not a secret that Villa are keen on getting a new left-back this month with the Frenchman being the number one target. Speaking to The Express, Gerrard has indicated his interest in the Toffees' £25m man.

“We are working hard on targets,” boss admitted when asked about Digne following Monday’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.   “It is not respectful to mention any names but there is no smoke without fire and we want to try and improve certain areas of our team and our squad.”
