Weller Hauraki opens up on Hull KR squad after Mose Masoe injury

Weller Hauraki has talked about the role he has played in helping the Hull KR squad cope with the Mose Masoe's retirement this year. Masoe had to retire from the game in January after suffering a spinal injury which left him without feeling from the chest down in Rovers’ pre-season friendly with Wakefield Trinity. And the unexpected loss of Masoe had a difficult impact on the KR squad, with the injury no doubt putting a number of things into perspective for everyone at the club, but club captain Hauraki has been helping those who need to talk. Speaking on the Hull KR’s official podcast, Between the Posts, Hauraki said: “It’s been pretty easy for me because I’ve always done it at every club I’ve been at. “It’s not that I’ve told the boys that I’m here if you need a chat, everyone’s just come up to me naturally and had a word with me or talked about something they didn’t feel comfortable talking to the coaches. "It’s been pretty natural at the moment and I don’t mind it. I’m coping with it pretty good and hopefully if we do get back playing again we can still fly on and push the boys to further achievements. “I think if we keep that desire and the stuff we’ve been doing the rest of the year for each other in every game, we won’t be too far off being in the top eight area. We need to keep going with the same attitude.” Source- HullLive
